What each option means day to day

Permanent Teeth are replacement teeth secured to dental implants. They stay in place during daily use rather than being taken out.

An implant denture is also held by implants, but it is typically made so it can be removed for cleaning. Both are implant-supported; the difference is whether the restoration comes out.

How the decision is usually framed

It is a practical difference rather than a quality ranking. Some patients want teeth that never leave the mouth. Others prefer being able to take the restoration out to clean it, and find that easier to manage.

Health, bone support, and daily care habits all feed into the recommendation, which is why the dentist raises it after examining rather than before.

Both arches, planned separately

An upper and a lower arch do not have to be treated the same way. A full-mouth plan may use a fixed restoration in one arch and an implant-supported denture in the other.
